IDRIS ELBA COVERS OCTOBER 2013 ISSUE OF GQ MAGAZINE

Idris Elba graced the cover of Gentlemen Quarterly 2013 Style Manual. The British actor and 6'3, 200 pounds of fineness perfectly demonstrates  how  to  wear the three piece suit in different ways with a confident look. According to him "Two-pieces are very very comfortable for business and what nots, but not when I'm  going out to an event or red carpet. A three-piece just definitely kills it." Three piece suits are extremely versatile. You get to break up the pieces to get an entirely different yet great look. Notice how he changed his look from formal to casual by trading his trousers for a pair of jeans. Watch and learn guys!

FRESH OFF THE RUNWAY

Although the Fashion week is still very much on fab fashion lovers are already donning pieces from the 2014 collection of designers. Check out some fashion forward celebrities already wearing pieces from the 2014 collection of their favorite designers.

SELENA GOMEZ totally rocked this Versace black cutout dress from its spring 2014 collection. She finished the look with stud earrings and good old black pumps

BLAKE LIVELY made an appearance at the Milan fashion week in a black jumpsuit from Gucci's newly unveiled spring 2014 collection 

RIHANNA spotted in London wearing a graphic Parental Advisory sweatshirt from Alexander Wang spring 2014 collection just four days after the fashion week runway show. cant say I'm surprised though! She paired the look with black leather pants, gorgeous white pumps and a White House of Malakaih trucker hat. 

Super model KARLIE KLOSS opened the Cushine Et OCh spring 2014 collection at the Newyork fashion week show while strutting down the runway in this cut out white dress. Five days later she wore it for a night in town, needless to say it was love at first sight and a must have for her. 

BEYONCE seen rocking a Guci REsort 2014 yellow printed top on matching  pants paired with nude heels.  she totally owned this look.

SOLANGE KNOWLES in 10 Crosby Derek lam blouse and matching white trousers from the brand's resort 2014 collection. She finished off the simple chic look with a chain bracelet, pink lipstick and matching nails. I soo heart this look. Sometimes less really is more.

BLAKE LIVELY this blonde beauty sure knows how to pick her outfits. She made an appearance at the Gucci spring 2014 in a Gucci resort 2014 dress. She styled her marigold criss -cross halter neck dress with a  Gucci  Metallic copper hue ankle strap sandal, a nude clutch, gold bracelet, red lipstick and of course her ring. 

LAW: Battle of the red sole

At the mention of Christian louboutin what automatically comes to the mind of every fashion lover is the much coveted sexy lacquered red sole. The famous French designer over the years has had to fight to save his beloved trademark and protect the exclusivity of the red sole.

Yves saint Laurent in its resort 2011 collection featured colored shoes with matching colored soles. The red suede shoes with matching red soles also featured in that collection was the subject of the litigation between the two fashion houses. Christian Louboutin sued Yves  Saint Laurent America inc. for violation of its trademark and sought damages to the tune of $1 million for infringement on its 2008 granted trademark. 

The court deciding upon the issue ruled that YSL is allowed to produce monochromatic red shoes (shoes with both upper and sole red),  and also that Louboutin's trademark isn't infringed upon if the entire shoe is red like that of Yes Saint Laurent. Following this decision,  it appears that louboutin has monopoly of the red soles in the entire fashion industry.

   More recently in a bid to protect this monopoly, Christian Louboutin sued Alba footwear, Easy Pikins inc., and Alan h.warshak for the sale of red soled shoes. Louboutin is seeking $2 million in damages and injunctive reliefs. Interestingly although the shoes produced by Alba are almost replicas of Christian Louboutin shoes (with one named Christian) that is not the subject of the suit. The suit is limited to the replication of the red sole and the infringement of Christian louboutin's trademark. This would be an interesting suit, keeping my fingers crossed while hoping the law would once again side with beloved Louboutin.

2013 Best Dressed

Peoples magazine released a list of the 2013 top 10 world's Best Dressed Women. The list included the likes of  Solange knowles, Jessica Chaistan, Kate Bosworth, Lily Collins, Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana, Nicole Ritchie and Jennifer Lawrence. Kerry Washington was however deemed the best of them all. Kerry who is a fashion maven both on and off the screen and especially on the red carpet was crowned  best dressed woman for the year 2013. Not sure I agree with this though, she's one of the best but not the very best. One thing is for sure, Kerry didn't start out looking this fabulous and amazingly stylish on the red carpet. She has made her fair share of bad fashion choices. Kerry's style can be likened to fine wine; it gets better with age. Below are some of her misses and red carpet flawless killer looks.

Kerry brought her glow to the red carpet in this Oscar de la renta yellow gown. The shade of yellow beautifully contrasts against her dark skin. 

2010.     The Costume Institute Gala Benefit

She dazzled in this Thakoon for Gap draped gown which was perfectly matched with Christian louboutin clutch and the designer's titi gold python peep toe heels. 

2011.    The Film Independent Spirit Award

 For this event Kerry opted for a pretty floral Dolce & Gabbana design which she wisely paired with a leopard Roger Viver clutch and red heels.

2011       BET Awards

Kerry hit the green carpet in a Michael kors neon backless key hole column dress with thigh high slit. For accessories she went with a metallic clutch and Christian louboutin pumps.

2011.  Glamour Women of the Year Award

Yellow is definitely her color. Kerry looked super duper glam in this Marchese chiffon dress which she matched with diamond drop earrings and nude christian louboutin pumps. 

2013 Oscars 

The award winning actress sparkled a Miu Miu gown with a crystal embellished top and coral bottom. She finished off the look with a red clutch and matching heels. The jury is still out on her accessories.

2013 CFDAs

Kerry definitely brought sunshine to the red carpet in this Jason Wu lemon yellow satin design. The scandal actress looked stunning while turning heads in this dress with criss cross strap and ruffled bustle at the back. She styled it with a small wooden lanvin clutch and nude make up. This is one of my favorite K.W red carpet looks.

2013 NAACP Image Awards

Kerry nailed this look and trust me I'm sure it wasn't easy pulling off this Oscar de la renta gown. 

2013 Django unchained UK Premier

Kerry in white Giles horse print gown this look is absolutely flawless. Love everything form the hair to her makeup, the white pumps and please don't get me started on just how fab the gown is.
